Bishop’s Stortford

The Bishop’s Stortford goods yard is a 5.8 hectare site, situated between the railway and the River Stort in the centre of Bishop’s Stortford. AWW have masterplanned a complete redevelopment of the site, combining the best urban design principles with a pragmatic response to the site’s many logistical challenges.

A planning application has been submitted for 682 new homes, an 80 bed hotel, 600sqm of retail floor space and multi-storey parking provision for 950 cars. A high quality urban environment with a new riverside park is proposed, completely transforming this derelict site, enhancing the local area and bringing extensive new facilities to the wider town.
