Mark AlkerStone Appointed Practice Director

After 12 years of dedication, diligence and excellence in delivery our current Practice Director, Richard Francis, has stood aside. As we approach our 45th year and sit at our largest head count to date it is time for Mark AlkerStone to take up this role and lead us into our next chapter. One in which we hope to witness further growth in stature both in size and project work. We will exploit our strengths that lie in diversity, continuity and inspirational design, embracing the new talent that we cultivate in our Practice and projects that we nurture from concept through to completion.

Mark has been with AWW for the past 24 years working his way up through the ranks from humble beginnings to an award winning, sector expert and national industry representative. We are proud of all that Mark has achieved; which he attributes to the forward thinking ambitions of AWW and our people focused ethos. Mark has witnessed the growth of the practice from Bristol to London and Plymouth and championed the success of all three offices. Most recently recognised in our move 10 places up in the AJ100 rankings to 59th.

Mark’s work spans a multitude of sectors with a passion for the commercial office sector; award wins include BCO recognition for Imperial Brands HQ and Bridgewater House and recent planning approval successes include; the Quadrangle in Cheltenham and Glassfields in Bristol. Mark recently completed his four year tenure as Chair of the BCO South West and Wales Committee and continues to sit on the committee supporting progression within the industry.

"Our recent rise up the AJ100 rankings reflects what I have always known, and I am intensely proudly of; that it is our people that make us who we are and drive our success. Their dedication, commitment and passion keep this industry alive and our practice at the forefront of it. It also recognises that our Practice is growing in size and design capability and I relish the challenge of continuing Ric’s work in supporting this progress for years to come.” Mark AlkerStone, Practice Director
