Gordano School Defect Free Handover!

AWW has been praised for our collaborative approach and designing in the quality standard that has led Gordano School to achieve a defect free handover.

Working with Willmott Dixon our scheme has  successfully transformed, and future-proofed, the facilities at Gordano in response to the rising admissions. The school were delighted to receive their new facilities that will be in use by the Autumn term.

Gordano is a thriving 11-18 comprehensive school serving the growing town of Portishead. Over the past 10 years, the population of the town has grown steadily with Gordano School catering for all of the secondary and post 16 provision for both the town itself and the surrounding Gordano Valley. Accordingly, the school capacity will be increased from 1,919 to 2,222 pupils. This demographic expansion required an increase in classrooms, the re-provision of the main school library and the addition of a new dining facility and kitchen.
