AWW is currently working on two projects in the neighbouring area and offered to work alongside Kier to provide pro bono help and expertise to improve areas of the school that would benefit from a makeover. Head of Interiors Naomi Waterman and Associate Architect Kate Marrinan worked in consultation with the school to design the new layout and interior of the after-school club room. The brief was to maximise space, provide a variety of mobile storage and kitchen units, maximise light and create a flexible space for both the children and parents.
Situated in a central Bristol our interior design team worked towards a woodland theme, bringing the great outdoors inside specifying natural colours to give a lighter fresher look, seating nooks within the wall storage, natural fibre floor rugs to determine play areas and autumnal colour fabric ceiling panels to give the room a cosy feel.
The project work was delivered by a group of 25 volunteers who helped to paint, install the kitchen units, lay flooring, put up benches and other units in an action packed three weeks!
Thank you to Kier’s Corporate Social Responsibility team for having us on board and everyone involved at the Hannah More School.
