Weymouth Gateway Park for New Look

Having originally been appointed by New Look to procure planning consent for a mix of community users, industrial and office space on the site, AWW was novated in 2010 to Deeley Freed Estates to drive a viable solution for this 35 acre redevelopment.

The new scheme, comprising a 6,000sqm headquarters building for New Look, B1 and B8 warehouses and other office buildings, together with a 7,000sqm supermarket, a hotel and a family restaurant was granted permission in late 2010. The New Look headquarters building completed construction late in 2012, with the hotel and restaurant due for completion in 2013.

Sustainability

A 10-metre wide wildlife corridor is maintained at the streamside consisting of additional planting and landscape features to enhance the biodiversity of the site.

Director’s Quote

“The site was complicated by environmental impact issues, and its importance at the arrival point in Weymouth. An Environmental Impact Assessment was submitted with the planning application and Councillors unanimously green-lighted the plans for the site.”

AWW provided their usual combination of excellent design and delivery architectural skills. Their 11th commercial building working with Deeley Freed Estates, completed on time and on price for a delighted occupier. AWW was also responsible for the punchy interior design.
