Ian graduated from Bath University and joined AWW as an Architectural Assistant 1984. He is now is one of the senior directors of AWW, with an exceptional track of successfully completing challenging and complex building projects from inception to completion. He has excellent managing and organisational skills, first rate planning and design skills, a very thorough understanding of construction and buildability and strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

Ian studied under Professor Ted Happold and Michael Brawne at Bath University. Through them he was inspired to appreciate the profound effect which architecture – in particular design quality – can have on people and the environment. Ian believes that the environments which architects create should be exciting, invigorating and stimulating but at the same time calm and peaceful.

Ian has worked successfully with Local Authority Planners, English Heritage, Environment Agency, CABE (Royal Fine Arts Commission) and Conservation amenity bodies on a number of recent projects ranging from £1 million to £40 million. His extensive client list includes several great ambassadors of excellence in architecture and the built environment.

Ian has delivered quality buildings in a wide range of sectors. Since 2001 he has headed up AWW Education sector specialism. Ian is also the Director responsible for finance within AWW.
