Bristol city centre site starts being cleared for the new 66 Queen Square office building designed by AWW inspired environments.

One of just a few commercial developments starting in Bristol in 2013, the Grade II listed Georgian terrace will remain in place but Skanska has demolished the rest of the buildings in order to build a high-quality modern addition. The new building will offer approx 61,000sqft (5,667sqm) of lettable office space with sustainability features integrated within the building to enhance its long-term energy efficiency and reduce occupational costs. Situated in a prestigious location within the city centre this also helps to make it an attractive office space for future tenants.

Kelly Iles, development manager for Skanska, said: “This is an exciting milestone for Skanska and the result of a lot of hard work and determination from the whole team.  AWW has been a key part of that team, they have been involved with scheme for a long time and they understood Skanska’s visions to combine heritage with innovative, sustainable office space – it was a challenge and AWW worked effortlessly to achieve this. When complete in early 2015 the development will offer a very high quality product to the Bristol market and one that we will all be proud of.”
