As AWW celebrates 40 successful years in practice in 2015, we are delighted to welcome Jamie Furse as our ninth Director.
Jamie joined AWW in 2006, and has led a number of landmark projects. These include the award-winning Finzels Reach and the reorganisation and refurbishment of the now-listed Pavilions in Bristol.
Most recently he was Project Leader for the transformation of Narrow Quay House, a premium office building in Bristol City Centre offering a range of innovative features including a new internal atrium which floods the building with natural light.
The distinctive, colourful cladding and ‘sails’ on the building have helped revitalise the previously drab public realm, with the striking two storey entrance already attracting prestigious occupiers. A significant amount of the building was let off plan, the first such letting in the area for over three years.
An experienced masterplanner, Jamie’s specialisms are in the office and residential sectors, in new build and refurbishment. His passion for contemporary architecture, together with his in-depth knowledge of flexible commercial design, enables Jamie to work across a variety of sectors and mixed use developments. His work includes both the private and affordable residential markets plus acute and primary healthcare projects.
Richard Francis, Practice Director, says: “Jamie is an invaluable addition to the team of Directors. 2015 finds AWW well placed for further adventure both at home and increasingly internationally, secure in the knowledge that our succession plan will lead the practice to even greater heights.”
