AWW inspired environments has been appointed by Wiltshire College to design new state-of-the-art college building just behind the existing college buildings on Cocklebury Road, Chippenham.
The three storey building will provide a new purpose built modern campus for the college and will house; music, media and art studios, hair and beauty salons, construction workshops and general teaching classrooms amongst others.
The college wishes to integrate sustainability into all aspects of its activities, and this is no exception. The new building is going to be highly sustainable and energy efficient.
AWW director and architect David Perkin commented, “I am extremely pleased to be able to build on our close relationship with Wiltshire College that has developed over a number of years. This project is a once in a lifetime opportunity to transform further education facilities in Chippenham and to contribute to the wider economic regeneration of the area, and we are very excited to be part of it.”
The new college will transform the future of learning in Chippenham and support the plans for economic growth in the town. Providing facilities that inspire and motivate students is one of five strategic objectives which support the college’s vision for the future. The Chippenham project represents the next stage in the transformation of Wiltshire College’s facilities across the county.
The new world class facilities will open to students from September 2015.
