RICS Community Award Winner 2007
Following on from the strategic development plan provided by AWW for States of Guernsey Education Department, AWW was appointed to design and build a special needs primary education centre, comprising a primary school, pre-school nursery and assessment centre, administration centre for special education support services and a child development centre on the site of a derelict vinery adjacent to the existing Forest Primary School playing fields.
The building incorporates naturally ventilated teaching class rooms, IT suites, music therapy rooms, dance / drama hall, a hydrotherapy pool, kitchen and dining, black and white therapy rooms as well as external teaching / learning environments. AWW was awarded the RICS Community Building of the Year for this project.
