Old Bread Street has been entered and shortlisted for the RIBA Town and Country Conservation Award for the South West Region and will battle it out with 2 other buildings for the prize.

James Wainwright of AWW showed the judging panel around the 54 unit affordable housing scheme last month and received encouraging comments on the quality of the restoration. The judges were particularly impressed with the transformation of the derelict 19th century grade 2 listed facades and in particular how the blank bricked up elevations have been refurbished to reveal the existing large 2 storey arched openings.

The winner will be announced at the ceremony held at Future Inns, Cabot Circus on September 30th.
