Since making the strategic decision at the end of 2012 to explore the international market, AWW has been developing opportunities in Nigeria, India and the Philippines.

AWW director David Perkin has now secured AWW’s first International project. Working with Highbury College, a leading UK based skills provider, and the Cross River State Government in Nigeria, AWW has been appointed on the Ugep Polytechnic project. The Polytechnic will provide a wide range of vocational skills and training facilities, including construction and engineering workshops, as well as general teaching and learning accommodation.

AWW has been working with Highbury College since 2005; the £9M City of Portsmouth Centre in 2007 was followed by the £24M redevelopment of the main Cosham Campus. Since occupying the new buildings, Highbury has been named as the top performing general Further Education College in England.

David Perkin commented, “I am very pleased to have had the opportunity to build on our well established relationship with Highbury College and look forward to working with them to deliver a world class facility for Cross River State. This first step into exciting new markets represents a real milestone for the practice.”
