In July of this year, AWW secured their first International project. Working with Highbury College, a leading UK based skills provider, and the Cross River State Government in Nigeria, AWW was appointed on the Institute of Technology and Management project in Ugep. The Institute will provide a wide range of vocational skills and training facilities, including construction and engineering workshops, as well as general teaching and learning accommodation.

Work has now started on site on the first phase of this project and AWW are working with Highbury College and the State Government on the second phase; the emerging scheme was well received by His Excellency The Governor of Cross River State and his Education Committee during a visit last week.

AWW Director David Perkin said “this project is a really enjoyable challenge; the scheme needs to balance innovative, contemporary education design with a pragmatic sense of what is locally deliverable and affordable. Having the opportunity to help the Government realise its objective of fundamentally transforming the vocational education system is a real privilege, and we are pleased to be able to share the knowledge and expertise developed from working in the sector in the UK over many years”.
