@AWWarchitects
YES!!!!! We've just been named AJ100 SW Practice of the Year for the second time running!
AWW architects has pioneered BIM/REVIT for a number of years and now uses REVIT on all projects and have developed an in–house, adaptable methodology for its use at different stages of a project.
BIM is a 3D modelling system that involves data sharing between all the contractors on a project to create a digital model that can be used from a project’s early design stages through to completion and monitoring of subsequent performance.
BIM offers the potential to enhance the integration among design and construction professionals to assist in client visualization, design coordination, interference/clash detection and so can play in an important part in a projects risk management strategy.
BIM offers a greater control over the detailed design and constructions drawings of the building and a greater opportunity to analyse and visualise the design as it progresses, and we can demonstrate this visualisation to clients.
AWW was specifically selected to take on the design of Bristol Skills Academy (Stage D) onwards because of our 3D architectural skills. Our use of REVIT on Hayesfield School has been invaluable, helping us to demonstrate to contractor and the client how design proposals might better suit a project than the initial proposal. The client team requested the design of a sports hall and separate performance space. REVIT allowed us to demonstrate how by combining these and utilising specialist seating, we could provide a multi-use space which not only met the client’s requirements but offered a flexible space at a significant cost saving.
